The first units of the eagerly anticipated new Opel Mokka GSE 281hp have arrived in Ireland. The most powerful electric road car ever produced by Opel, and winner of a Golden Steering Wheel 2025, the Mokka GSE is inspired by the new Mokka GSE Rally and packaged in a unique GSE motorsport design. A special-order model in Ireland, retailing from €39,410 inclusive of SEAI grant and VRT rebate, the Mokka GSE offers sportiness, with maximum safety and comfort. The Mokka GSE will be joined by the new Corsa GSE model at the end of 2026.

James Brooks, Managing Director of Opel in Ireland said: “The new Mokka GSE is a showcase of pure driving pleasure. All-electric, efficient, practical and highly emotional in every respect, it is already an award-winner. It revives the high-performance Opel GSE badge of old and looks to the future, today standing for Grand Sport Electric.”

The Opel Mokka GSE offers high-performance as standard. With a peak output of 281hp (207kW), it is just as powerful as its motorsport counterpart, the Mokka GSE Rally. With immediate torque of 345 Newton meters, it accelerates just as uncompromisingly, completing the dash from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds. With great power comes great responsibility and a top speed of 200 km/h is determined, whilst three distinct drive modes – Sport, Normal and Eco – ensure up to 336km (WLTP) can be covered locally, emissions-free from its 54kWh lithium-ion battery.

Its kerb weight of less than 1.6 tonnes, exemplary for a battery-electric vehicle, and the sophisticated technology inspired by the rally car, also contribute to the exceptional performance. For example, the Mokka GSE has a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential as well as a chassis with specially designed axles and new hydraulic shock absorbers. All high-voltage components of the standard Mokka GSE, such as the motor, inverter, battery and wiring harness, come from the Mokka GSE Rally. The steering system, chassis and brakes have also been designed to be particularly sporty and optimised thanks to Opel's experience in electric rallying.

Numerous design and equipment details remind customers of its racing DNA, including GSE inserts and lettering on the body, a wheel-tyre combination specially developed for the Mokka GSE and clearly visible, yellow GSE four-piston brake calipers at the front.

In the interior, the driver and front passenger sit on special black GSE Alcantara performance seats with integrated headrests. Acceleration and braking commands are given via aluminium-effect sports pedals.
