This week Jeep held the motoring media launch of the all-new Jeep® Compass at Slane Castle, County Meath, bringing the brand’s latest electrified SUV to one of Ireland’s most iconic music venues and atmospheric historic estates.

Set within the grounds of Slane Castle, a venue synonymous with landmark live music moments and a long cultural legacy, the launch reflected the character of the Jeep Brand and the new Compass itself. A vehicle designed for people who value independence, capability and the freedom to choose how they move.

The new Compass launches in Ireland with electrified capability at the centre of its line-up, with both electric and hybrid variants. Further powertrain options will follow as the range expands. The full range of powertrains planned for the new Compass enhances the freedom of choice Jeep offers its customers, with a 145hp 48V e-Hybrid, a 195hp e-Hybrid Plug-in and three full-electric versions, ranging from a 213hp front-wheel drive version up to 375hp in all-wheel drive powertrain.

This evolving line-up reflects Jeep’s approach of offering genuine freedom of choice, allowing customers to select the powertrain that best suits their lifestyle and driving needs.

John Saunders, Managing Director at Jeep Ireland said, at the launch, “The all-new Jeep Compass represents exactly where the brand is heading in Ireland. It brings together electrified performance, real-world versatility and genuine freedom of choice for customers at a time when many are deciding to start their electric journey. Launching it at Slane Castle feels entirely appropriate. It is a place defined by history, character and unforgettable moments, which mirrors what Jeep stands for.  A vehicle equally suited to commuting as it is to weekend adventures.”

Charging time on the New Compass EV is quick, with a rapid 160kW DC solution offering a 30 minute 20-80% recharging time, and an onboard charger with up to 22kW. The BEV range is up to up 500 km on launch models, with an extended range version coming later offering up to 650 km. The improved aerodynamic efficiency of the new Compass does not compromise the practicality or spaciousness of the vehicle.  The CX has been improved by 10%, achieving a value of less than 0.3, thanks to the introduction of the active grill shutter directly integrated into the front bumper, the air duct on the front and rear wheels, sharp rear edges and a fully flat underbody design.

Jeep continues to build on its “Freedom to Choose Electric” initiative in Ireland, first introduced in 2025 on the Jeep Avenger, with New Compass. The programme allows customers who choose electric to switch to a hybrid powertrain within 90 days if they feel a fully electric model is not the right fit for them. It also includes common pricing on hybrid and electric versions, giving Irish customers true freedom when deciding to go electric.  This approach reinforces Jeep’s belief that electrification should be flexible and confidence-led, supporting customers at every stage of their transition.

The all-new Compass features a fully redesigned interior with enhanced digital interfaces, improved connectivity and increased comfort. Its electrified architecture delivers smooth and efficient performance across hybrid and electric variants.

Inside, the cabin has been reimagined for greater versatility and refinement. The interior space is more generous than the previous Compass, with rear passengers enjoying an extra 20 mm of legroom and cargo space expanding to up to 550 litres, 45 litres more than before. The total front storage reaches 34 litres, offering greater space for everyday items. The interior architecture prioritises functionality and ease of use, featuring an intuitive physical gearbox rotary selector, an electronic parking brake button and a rubberised Selec-Terrain® switch placed within easy reach, allowing seamless operation even on rough terrain. Drivers can choose among five driving modes: Auto, Sport, Snow, Sand/Mud, and, Electric (exclusive to e-Hybrid Plug-in version) each designed to optimise performance and control in different conditions.

Another major advancement is the introduction, on the New Jeep Compass, of Level 2 autonomous driving as a standard feature. The safety package is enhanced by state-of-the-art features such as the Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (P-ACC) and Semi-automated Lane Change. The P-ACC retains all the benefits of the traditional ACC Stop&Go but adds the ability to adapt the speed according to road profile, speed limits, and upcoming curves or roundabouts. The system automatically slows down before a bend and accelerates smoothly once the road straightens, ensuring greater serenity behind the wheel. The Semi-automated Lane Change function, available between 70 and 180 km/h, assists the driver when changing lanes by performing gentle steering adjustments to guide the vehicle into the intended lane, delivering a safer and serene driving experience.

New Compass is available in a choice of six colours. The launch colour is Hawaii a bright brilliant green, reminiscent of the lush landscapes and tropical vegetation of the Hawaiian Islands. The colour range varies from the Pacific (blue), representing the vast expanses of the Pacific Ocean. Antarctica (white) symbolises the ice and snow of the Earth’s southernmost continent, while Amazonia (green with brown hues) evokes the Amazon rainforest. Yosemite (grey) is emblematic of the towering cliffs and rock formations of the national park from which it derives its name, and Vulcano (black) pays homage to the isle of Vulcano in Sicily.

The capabilities of the new Compass are extended across the range, including on front-wheel-drive versions which are also capable off-road. With a ground clearance of up to 200mm, approach angle of 20 degrees, breakover angle of 15 degrees and departure angle of 26 degrees, the new Compass is equipped to handle tough terrains with ease. The vehicle’s water fording depth of up to 470mm highlights its ability to tackle the most challenging environments. Selec-terrain will feature as standard across all versions.

In the year that marks Jeep’s 85th anniversary, celebrating years of Jeep capability and adventure, the all-new Compass reflects the brand’s continued evolution into an electrified future while remaining true to its core DNA. It delivers everyday usability, strong road presence and the robustness expected of a Jeep, reimagined for modern driving.

The all-new Jeep Compass is available now in Jeep Dealers nationwide with both hybrid and electric versions starting from €42,995 RRSP.

For the 262-registration period, Jeep is supporting the launch with a range of customer offers, including:
